Responsible Gambling in Ghana: Free Help, Self-Exclusion and Limits

If you're here because betting is starting to hurt, you're doing the right thing by reading. Here's where to get help in Ghana, for free.

Who to call
- Mental Health Authority toll-free line: 0800 678 678. Ghana has no gambling-only helpline, so this national line is the place to talk to someone about gambling stress, debt worries or low mood.
- Gaming Commission of Ghana toll-free: 0800 454 545, or (027) 469 8935 (contact page). Use this for self-exclusion and complaints about locally licensed operators. It is the regulator, not a counselling service.
Signs it's time to step back
- You bet to win back what you lost yesterday.
- You've borrowed, or used MoMo money meant for bills, to bet.
- You hide slips or balances from family.
- You feel low or irritable when you can't bet.
Self-exclusion
The Gaming Commission runs a self-exclusion programme for locally licensed operators, and local operators must offer self-exclusion tools in your account. Offshore sites are outside that system, so ask their support directly to close or exclude your account, in writing, and keep the reply.
Limits that work
- Deposit limits on every account, set on day one.
- A fixed MoMo wallet or crypto wallet for betting, never your main account.
- Phone screen-time limits or blocking apps on betting sites.
- Talk to someone you trust and let them check in on you.
Charley, play safe.
